This brings out all the emotions and awful decisions that each man had to take in the Civil War. Can’t imagine having to shoot my own countrymen. What a terrible time in the US this was. You brought the era to life.

I wondered who that man in white linen was, had a feeling that was confirmed at the end. This is an incredibly well written story, or chapter of a story anyway. The reading flowed easily.

I remember reading this when you posted it for the challenge, and enjoyed it then as well. I still like that you show the Christians on what has historically been portrayed as the “wrong” side of the conflict.

I assume this is part of a longer story about Matthew Wells.
I’m not a Civil War buff, but I know some of my family would love this.
