It's the Write Time

It's the Write Time has been online in various form since 2005. Maintaining an online presence for this long has not been an easy task, but it has been very worthwhile. The rewards offset the challenges and in the process I have met some wonderful people....

Writing a Letter to the Editor

Scores of Americans continue to cancelling their subscription to local newspapers. While the advent of social media and the internet have played a pivotal role in print media demise, there is another reason. Liberal journalists and socialist factions are now realizing decades of concentrated effort to infiltrate this supposedly outdated medium.

There can be no refuting that the printed word has long been a favorite of political and social activists. Newspapers themselves are undoubtedly political in nature and freedom of the press has long been cherished in the United States for that reason. Everyone you meet has an opinion and the right to express those opinions is a freedom we continue to enjoy.

The growing problem is that as socialist Marxist increase their influence in local news print, their censorship of competing worldviews has created a sour taste in the mouths of many former subscribers. Unless you are interested in the socialist agenda, there is decreasing information useful to readers at large. But there is still a way each one of us can play a part to inject sanity back into the printed media.

By reversing the tactics of socialists on themselves, we can promote capitalist and republic ideals. One such tactic would be to write free-market friendly op-eds and try to have them published in your local newspaper. Depending upon the level of socialist infiltration within your local paper, it may be unlikely that your piece will be printed. Even so, there is still a way.

If you are like me and haven’t read or even opened a newspaper lately, perhaps your memory will inform you that most newspapers do publish letters from the public that are sent to the editor. It is important to note that in order for this method to be successful, you will need a number of fellow capitalists to join you in this effort. In addition, letters to the editor meant to influence readers should be carefully worded so as not to be perceived as too vindictive against socialism nor too vocal in favor of capitalism. The socialist agenda and the agents thereof have become masters of suggestion and we capitalists need to take lessons from their operating manual.

Granted, this may seem fanatical in base interpretation, but in essence, most readers who have cancelled their newspaper subscriptions realize there is something wrong. The balance of differing viewpoints and constructive criticism and discussion have gradually disappeared from print. It is time to make inroads in whatever form is possible.

All you need to to is to purchase one of these socialist rags and find the proper address to send letters to. Follow this with a number of carefully worded letters and send them in. These letters do get read and we must begin reeducating people on the positive aspects of capitalist free markets as well as the dangers and pitfalls of a closed socialist system.
