Writing has always been a creative outlet for me personally and I know of many, many others who have the same affinity for this ancient craft. The word writing, to me, is a bit too generic a term for what I and others perform at desks, couches and perhaps even semi-prone chairs on the sands of luxurious beaches. Writing sounds like mundane work, like something done in a classroom to the approval of a single teacher or professor.
Instead of being categorized as a writer, I prefer the term wordsmith. I can tell you that every time I sit down to place letters on paper or on a screen, I feel as if I am preparing for a new creation. Much like a blacksmith lays out their tools, stokes up the fire and prepares their materials, the wordsmith too makes similar preparation. Each new document, letter, blog entry, whatever it may be is a new creation. Some works require a little more hammering, others a little more flame, and others still either require setting aside for a later day or simply tossing into the scrap-heap to be born again as a new creation.
On this page I bring greetings, salutations, tips, tricks and of course warnings, to all who endeavor to please their inner drive to produce worthwhile content and writing fit for reading.
