I have had an internet presence almost since the dawn of the world wide web itself. A visit to the wayback machine gives ample evidence to my particular vein of ignorance at the power of this medium.

It was never my intention to create an income generator, but I had hopes that I could find some measure of financial reward for all of the years, months, days, hours and seconds I poured into my personal research and work. I remember the amount of my first affiliate check back in the mid nineties…a whopping $10!

Since then I have experimented with numerous formats, affiliate programs and other such opportunities. I even took a moderate break from the fray for several years because my internet hobby was invading every other part of my life, and for little reward.

In the past few years however, I have stumbled across my own personal niche and have developed formulas of unique perspective to garner sufficient reward to my “troubles.”

The internet is by no means a get-rich-quick scheme, for most people. It does require considerable research, planning, budgeting, and of course writing. None of it comes without frustration and many times I have been left feeling a bit frustrated after hours of work that seem to have been wasted for one reason or another.

My first word of advice to anyone entering the blogoshpere is, “If you are in it only to make money, you would be better off walking away and opening up a lemonade stand on the corner of your yard.”

It is my philosophy that if you do not have something worth other people’s time, then please don’t waste yours by wasting theirs. If you do have something worth the time of other people, then you have a genuine starting point for success.
